Rotorua & Bay of Plenty
Trusted Local Team for Solar, Battery, and EV Charging
If you are looking for a solar installer in Rotorua or Bay of Plenty, we design and install home, farm, and business solar systems including Tesla Powerwall, Fronius inverters, battery storage, EV charging, solar pumping, and off-grid-ready solutions for NZ conditions, with guidance on green loan-ready upgrades. We also service Matamata, Te Puke, Kawerau, Ātiamuri, Tīrau, and surrounding areas.
Why We Lead
Built for Performance. Backed for the Long Haul.
Most companies can install a system. Fewer can design it right, commission it properly, and still be there years later when you need support. That is where Solar Electrix stands out.
Equipment chosen for long-term reliability, serviceability, and warranty support.
Strong capability across grid-tied, hybrid, off-grid, EV charging, and solar pumping.
Local team support for monitoring, troubleshooting, and lifecycle guidance.
Best Seller Right Now
Tesla Powerwall 3 Is Our Best Seller for Performance and Value
Powerwall 3 is highly competitive because you are effectively getting a premium 13.5 kWh battery with integrated inverter capability in one system. In suitable projects, integrated design can reduce install complexity and improve overall value, then current rebates can further strengthen the business case.
Why Customers Pick Tesla First
Fast backup response, clean Tesla app visibility, scalable storage, and advanced thermal control make this an easy choice. Tesla documentation confirms Powerwall 3 is air-cooled and includes Heat Mode with cell-level heating for strong cold-weather charging and discharge performance. We can also configure time-dependent charging strategies to top up during free-power windows (typically 1 to 3 hours), helping improve overall energy savings.
Extended Rebate Offer
Get up to $1,700 rebate on a Powerwall 3 with Expansion Battery, or $850 rebate per Powerwall on eligible installs. Final value depends on system design, scope, and programme eligibility at the time of order.
Rebate End Date
The extended rebate is time-limited and currently targets orders by 30 June 2026. Contact us now so we can confirm latest terms and secure your installation slot before allocation windows close.
Every Powerwall proposal is site-specific with clear assumptions, install scope, and practical next steps before you commit.

Grid Connection Journey
Steps to Connect Your Grid-Tied Solar System
We run this process end-to-end so you always know what is happening next, what depends on third parties, and when your system is expected to go live.
Project Info Check
We confirm the essentials first, including your power bill, switchboard photos, and site details. If anything is missing, we will contact you quickly so nothing stalls.
Lines Company Approval
We lodge your Distributed Generation (DG) application with the local lines company. Approval timing depends on their queue and can take up to 30 working days.
Installation Day
As soon as DG approval is through, we lock in your install date and email confirmation. Our team arrives on the agreed day and completes the build to spec.
Inspection and Compliance
After installation, we issue the COC and provide documentation for inspection. The inspector verifies safety and standards, then issues the ROI.
Meter Change and Go-Live
We submit your import/export meter request to your retailer with all required documents. Retailer processing can take up to 5 weeks, and then your solar goes live.
